Why should I seal the basement walls of a newly built building?
The walls of the basement are in contact with the soil and therefore with permanent humidity or even
with the rising aquifer. As a consequence, almost all of the structures where waterproofing is not
provided, show water inflows.
And if it has not become watertight in construction and now the trusses are piled;
Internal sealing should be done with special materials that withstand negative pressures
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF WATERPROOFING THE EXTERIOR WALLS
A. WITH CEMENT COMPOSITE MATERIAL.
1.Cleaning of the surface, cutting of rods, sealing of gaps where needed with special resinous cement mortar.
2.Covering of the surface in three layers with cement-based sealing compound.
3. Installation of a drainage membrane with mechanical fastening to the coronation with a blade. The
sheets of the film will overlap approximately 10 cm and will not be supported elsewhere than the upper
edge to prevent the sealant layer from being injured. It should therefore be done immediately after the
end of the work
B. WITH BITUMENOUS MEMBRANE
1 Cleaning of the surface, cutting of rods, sealing of gaps where needed with special resinous cement mortar.
2.Packing asphalt solution (PRIMER) according to ASTM D-41 and consumption 300-500 gr / m2.
Application is made by brush or roller.
3. Total adhesion of elastomeric bituminous membrane (A LUBRICATION). The membrane consists of
asphalt mixture, enriched with styrene-butadiene-styrene polymer (SBS), non-woven polyester fabric
reinforcement, top and bottom polyethylene film coating suitable for use with a flamethrower. The
weight of the film is 4 kg / m2.
4. Total adhesive of elastomeric (SBS) bituminous membrane of excellent quality and durability, (B
LUBRICATION). The film has a weight of 4 kg / m2, reinforced non-woven polyester fabric, upper overcoat
with mineral chips and polyethylene film undercoat.
The second layer will be completely affixed to the first and in parallel but without the cohesive
compounds of the A and B layer
5 Installation of a drainage membrane with mechanical fastening to the coronation with a blade. The
sheets of the film will be overlapped by 10 cm. They will not be supported elsewhere except the upper
edge to prevent the sealant layer from being injured. It should therefore be done immediately after the
end of the work
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF WATERPROOFING THE INTERIOR WALLS
1 Cleaning of coatings, paints and woodwork and removal of rubble with a suitable garbage disposer
2Surface cleaning
3. Screed the surface where required with repair mortar
4. Two layer coat with PENETRON cementitious cementitious sealant in two coats
5. Reconstruction of the coating.
